Compared to its predecessor, the MERLIN-42 (2020) multifunctional attachment lens has a new collimator lens that is firmly connected to the housing - because it is no longer possible to unscrew it. Optimizations can be found in the housing components as well as in the software. A clear advantage, because the new generation of devices is more precise and even more robust than the previous optics.

The MERLIN-42 can be hand-held and used as an attachment lens for day optics. The optics has an integrated compass, inclinometer. Power is supplied by standard 2xCR123 (3.7V) batteries or rechargeable batteries. The powerful VOx detector and the OLED display in XGA format (1,024x768 pixels) provide high-contrast and sharp images. The manually focusable 42 mm objective lens enables a detection range of up to 1,482 m. The built-in VOx detector allows an 8x magnification of the daytime optics. We recommend using the clamping adapter KA-MC (see accessories), which is available for all diameters. A general overview and the individual technical differences of the MERLIN products can be found under the following link:
